CT Women's Caucus Rep Observes International's Women's Day
CT Women's Caucus Reps wore red to celebrate International's Women's Day and Rep. Rose opened the session with remarks about the day.

From CT State Rep: Co-Chair of the Bi-Partisan Women’s Caucus State Representative Kim Rose (D-Milford) opened today’s legislative session with an observance of International Women’s Day.
“I thank all that wore red today in support of International Women's Day. It's a statement that women’s equality and rights are important and we will continue to move forward, not backward as we fight to preserve the rights that we've won and an indication of solidarity in our continuing fight for our basic rights such as equal pay, paid family medical leave and access to health services, to name a few,” Rep. Rose said.
Opening remarks included a remembrance of former late State Representative Mary Fritz who served for many years in the state legislature.

“It is fitting that we remember Mary Fritz today on women's day, she was proud to be a female Legislator. She was a force to be reckoned with and one of the longest serving legislators in the history of the Connecticut Legislature,”Rep. Rose added. “Today, now more than ever, we must unite as one voice to protect the rights that we have and continue to advocate for issues of importance for women. We need to do this for all women, our mothers and grandmothers that stood up and fought before us, and for our daughters and our granddaughters that will take up the mantle after us.”
Rep. Rose is serving her fourth legislative term. She is co-chair of the Women’s Caucus, House vice chair of the legislature’s Housing Committee, Assistant Majority Whip and a member of the Internship and Veterans Affairs Committees.
