Developer Plans To Convert Milford Church To Residential Use

A developer, who has projects in several nearby towns, is pitching a proposal for a church.

MILFORD, CT — A developer is planning to convert a church in Devon into affordable housing, according to Hearst Connecticut Media.

The conversion project comes from an Easton developer and involves renovating the interior of the United Church of Christ at the corner of Ormand and Pequot streets into 20 apartments.

The plans will go before the Planning and Zoning Board for the project to move forward.

The United Church of Christ is conducting "business as usual" as the sale of the property has not closed, President of the Church Council Nancy Zellner said.

The church hosts worship every Sunday at 10 a.m. and is hosting a Vendor Thrift Shop Fair on Saturday, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
