Obituary: Donald L. Brown
He was always up for an adventure, even if it meant braving a towering rollercoaster

Donald L. Brown, 76, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 surrounded by his family. Don was the beloved husband of Marie Giustino Brown, sharing 55 wonderful years together. Don was born in upstate New York on September 16, 1949 to the late Elton and Myrtle (Pettis) Brown.
Don lived a life defined by hard work, generosity, and a genuine love for the people around him. In his younger years, Don could often be found at the pool table, belting classic rock, hunting, or stirring up a bit of mischief with his brothers. Growing up on a farm, he became self-taught in countless skills and later spent many years as a machinist at Milford Rivet. A natural handyman, he could fix just about anything, and his strong, meticulous work ethic—and willingness to help anyone—defined him. Don had a way of knowing everyone and everyone knew him. He especially loved his time working as a custodian in the Milford Public Schools, where he took pride in his work and enjoyed the friendships he formed with staff and students. No matter where he went – the store, a restaurant, or on vacation, he always seemed to run into a familiar face.
Retirement never slowed Don down. He discovered a true love for cruising, creating countless cherished memories on vacations at sea with his family. He was always up for an adventure, even if it meant braving a towering rollercoaster. At home, Don found simple joy in watching the History and Cooking Channels, and he could never resist a good meal, especially anything Italian. He loved trying out new recipes and sharing them with the people he loved most.
