Downtown Milford Restaurant, Wine Bar Sets Opening Target
A new restaurant in a prominent location promises to be "a modern dining destination" and is taking steps toward opening.
MILFORD, CT — Sorrento Cafe & Wine Bar is "hoping for a January opening" in Downtown Milford, according to a Facebook post from the restaurant.
A sign has been installed at the 9 River St. address. The site is the former home of Strega.
The new spot "evokes the charm of an Italian cafe and offers our patrons the experience of eating in Italy," according to its Facebook page. Sorrento is described as "a modern dining destination that blends the warmth of Italian inspiration with a fresh, contemporary twist."

The restaurant will include a wine list with vintages from across the world.
Strega, also an Italian restaurant, permanently closed its Milford location and moved to Chapel Street in downtown New Haven, according to its Instagram page.
