Dunkin Donuts Fundraises for Milford PD K-9 Unit
Customers can buy a paw print themed donut on April 28 to raise money for the Milford Police Department K-9 Unit.

From Jessella PR: Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods today announced that on Friday, April 28, 2017, participating restaurants in Milford will host a fundraiser to benefit the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association (CPDWA).
Guests in Milford are invited to support local police dogs by purchasing specialty “Paw Print” themed donuts at one of two participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants: 275 Boston Post Road and 367 Bridgeport Avenue. Local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees the D’Andrea Group will donate all proceeds from the sale of “Paw Print” themed donuts on April 28 to the Connecticut Police Work Dog Association. The CPWDA provides essential training for hundreds of police dogs across the state, but the “Paw Print” donut fundraiser will focus on support for the Milford Police Department K-9 Unit, where Officer Sean Degnan handles K-9 Diesel and Officer Sean Owens handles K-9 Zar.
In 2016, the D’Andrea Group donated $1,094 to the CPDWA, also to benefit Milford K-9, thanks to the generous support of their guests. This year they hope to exceed that donation amount. “As franchisees dedicated to the community and to those who serve and protect us, we feel our ‘Paw Print’ donut fundraiser is one way to give back not only to the Milford Police Department but also to our four-legged friends who are often the unsung heroes,” said Nicole Ball, Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee of the D’Andrea Group. “We host multiple donut fundraisers to benefit local organizations throughout the year,” added Ball, “but the ‘Paw Print’ one is a real favorite among our guests and crew members. We’re eager to see everyone enjoying the festivities on Friday.”

Established in 1991, the CPWDA supports police service dogs in the state and helps departments with enhanced training, education, and workflow of police K-9 teams. In addition to supporting the Milford Police Department, the CPWDA has also established minimum certification standards for patrol and narcotic detection K-9 teams.
Milford’s K-9s serve the community by providing tracking and locating services for missing people or criminal suspects. These dogs also patrol high crime areas and can search crime scenes for evidence, among many other duties.
The D’Andrea Group is a family-owned business, operates 13 Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants from Killingworth to Stratford, and proudly employs more than 250 people.
