Foran High School Hires New Athletic Director
A familiar face will take the athletic director position, as current director Anthony Vitelli will retire at the end of the school year.
MILFORD, CT — Jeffrey Raucci has been named the next athletic director of Joseph A. Foran High School. Raucci will take the position of long-time director Anthony Vitelli, who will retire at the end of the school year.
Raucci will "partner with Mr. Vitelli over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition for the 2024-25 athletic season," according to a district statement.
Raucci has worked at Foran since 2018 as a health and physical education teacher with additional duties at The Academy. Prior to coming to Milford, he spent one year at Bridgeport Public Schools as a physical education teacher.

Raucci has served as an assistant coach for the Foran boys basketball team for many years. Raucci has also served as the girls track and field head coach, as well as the boys cross country head coach.
“I am both humbled and excited to have the opportunity to be the next Athletic Director at Foran High School," Raucci said in a statement. "Having coached sports here at Foran, I have seen firsthand the strong reputation of our athletic department around the state, largely due to the tireless effort and time dedicated by Anthony Vitelli over the previous two decades. Anthony has been a mentor to me over my six years at Foran as an educator and coach, helping me learn a great deal from him. He has truly served as a role model that I continually seek to emulate."
