Hospital Holiday Festivities Began With a Visit from Santa

Milford, CT - Hospital Holiday Festivities Begin with a Visit from Santa Over the past 20 years, the Milford Hospital Celebration of Trees has become a cherished holiday tradition for the people of Milford and surrounding communities. During the 10 day event from December 3rd through December 12th, more than 3,000 visitors are expected to stroll through the Milford Hospital lobby and balcony areas to view, and take a chance on winning, one of the themed trees, gift baskets, displays and other items, which will transform the hospital into a holiday wonderland.

In addition to the trees and traditional holiday items, this years’ Celebration will feature a variety of new and exciting prizes donated by local business leaders and community organizations including: a Mohegan Sun Getaway, a New York City getaway complete with limousine service, electronics for the home and much, much more.

Highlights of the "Celebration of Trees" include a variety of activities and entertainment beginning with “kids day” on Saturday, December 3rd. The day’s events start at 12:00pm with Lunch with Santa Claus followed by entertainment with Tony the Balloon Man. Tickets are $5.00 per child, $7.00 per adult, reservations are required and Space is LIMITED. Call 203-647-6654. At the Annual Tree of Light Ceremony, on Friday, December 9th, community members are invited to participate in the tree lighting and memorial ceremony by purchasing a light on the outdoor tree in honor or in memory of a loved one or friend.

All events and activities will take place at Milford Hospital, 300 Seaside Avenue. The full schedule of holiday festivities is as follows:

Saturday, December 3rd - Kids Day

• 12:00pm Noon - Lunch with Santa $5.00 per child, $7.00 per adult, Reservations are required, Space is LIMITED. Call 203-647-6654 for reservations.
• 12:30 – 2:30 – Tony the Balloon Man
• 1:00pm – 3:00pm – Visits with Santa

Sunday, December 4th – 12:00 pm – Performance by Milford Public Schools

Tuesday, December 6th – 7:00pm – Performance by Michael Jovovich accompanied by Dr. Joe Utterback on the piano

Friday, December 9th

• 11:00am – Performance by the musical group “Matinee”
• 5:30pm - Tree of Light Ceremony

Special Guest – Mayor Ben Blake

Blessing by: Father Aiden Donohue, St. Mary’s Church

Saturday, December 10th –

12:00pm – Performance by the Musical Ensemble of the Milford Senior Center

Sunday, December 11th

• 1:00pm - Performance by the Coastal Chordsmen featuring Milford Hospital Physician Dr. Michael Rudolph
• 1:00-3:00pm – Visits with Santa

Monday, December 12th - 4:00 - Raffle Drawing
