Hundreds Turn Out for Milford’s Mother’s Day 5K, Raising Over $26K

The recent event was to support local healthcare services.

MILFORD, CT — Nearly 600 participants gathered for the Bridgeport Hospital Milford Campus Mother’s Day 5K Run/Walk, 3K Fitness Walk, and Kid’s Fun Run. Presented by Dillon’s Services of Shelton, the community event raised more than $26,000 in support of local healthcare services, according to a statement.

Runners, walkers, and families filled the newly paved streets of Milford in a show of community spirit and support for the hospital’s Same Day Joint Replacement Surgery Center.

“This means a lot to the community,” Milford Mayor Tony Giannattasio said in a statement. “It’s a testament to the partnership between the community and the hospital. It brings people together from across the state to support our community hospital, and it's been that way for decades.”
