A strong storm is expected to impact the weather in southern Connecticut for both days this weekend. Here are the new updates.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for all of southern Connecticut for what is shaping up to be a wet and windy weekend.

"Low pressure will likely bring periods of heavy rain, gusty winds, coastal flooding, beach erosion, and dangerous rip currents on Saturday," the National Weather Service posted on Thursday. "Some of these impacts may linger into Sunday."

Thursday looks great with sunshine and temperatures into the low 70s and Friday will remain dry with a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures around 70 degrees, according to the weather service.

Rain is forecast to move into southern Connecticut just before daybreak Saturday and continue through Sunday. More than two inches of rain is possible. More rain is possible late Sunday and Monday morning.

Today: Sunny, with a high near 73. Northeast wind around 7 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny, with a high near 71. East wind 7 to 11 mph.

Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of rain after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. East wind around 9 mph.

Saturday: Rain likely, mainly after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 66. Northeast wind 13 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain likely. Cloudy, with a low around 56. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 70.

Sunday Night: A chance of rain before 2am, then a chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 57. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Monday: A 30 percent chance of showers before 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.
