Man Crashed Car Into Building, Fled On Foot: Milford Police

When the 29-year-old was taken into custody, police determined he had an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

MILFORD, CT — A 29-year-old man has been arrested after he allegedly crashed a stolen vehicle into a building and fled the scene, police said.

On Jan. 5, Milford police responded to the area of Merwin Avenue and Sandpiper Crescent on a report of a motor vehicle accident where the vehicle had fled the scene.

Officers received a description of suspect Victor Martinez's vehicle, determined it was stolen out of Waterbury, and located it in West Haven, police said.

When officers attempted a motor vehicle stop, they said Martinez took off in the vehicle, crashed it into a building and fled on foot, leaving an injured female behind.

Martinez was later found and taken into custody on a charge of second-degree larceny. While in custody, officials determined he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for a probation violation.

His bond was set at $45,000 and he had a court date of Jan. 6.
