Man Tries To Rob Victim In CVS Parking Lot: Milford Police
"The male subject told the victim to give him their keys or he was going to hurt them," police said.
MILFORD, CT — A man is accused of trying to rob a person in the parking lot of CVS at 734 Bridgeport Ave. on Saturday, police said.
Police responded to CVS for a report of a disturbance in the parking lot.
"Upon arrival, the victim stated that they were putting their bags in the car when they felt someone grab their arm and place an object to the side of their chest," police said in a news release. "The male subject told the victim to give him their keys or he was going to hurt them. The victim began to fight with the subject to create distance from the potential weapon. The male would not let them go and pushed them into the vehicle, trying to grab their keys."

Police said the victim was able to get away from the suspect, who then fled on Bridgeport Avenue. A description of the suspect was given to responding officers, police said. With the help of K9 Mack, the suspect was located a short distance away, hiding under a vehicle, police said.
He was taken into custody and police said a gray T-shirt with a metal pipe wrapped inside was found in his possession, which was the weapon used in the robbery, police said.

The suspect was identified as Cedric Young, 43, of Dixwell Avenue in New Haven, police said.
He was charged with:
- Criminal Attempt/ Robbery 2nd Degree
- Breach of Peace 2nd Degree
- Threatening 1st Degree
Young was held on a $150,000 bond.
