The businesses will donate $1 per drink to pediatric brain cancer research. The event began in memory of 6-year-old Lea Doran of Hamden.
MILFORD, CT — Grab a beer to support pediatric brain cancer research at several breweries in Milford and throughout Connecticut this weekend.
Participating breweries will be supporting "Pour For the Cure," a fundraiser for The Cure Starts Now Cancer Research Foundation, which focuses on curing cancers that are immune to treatment, that affect children and that have the highest death rate, according to the charity's website.
On Thursday, Tribus Beer Co., located at 100 Raton Dr., will be donating $1 per drink sold to Pour For the Cure; and Dockside Brewery, LLC, located at 40 Bridgeport Ave., will be participating on Saturday and Sunday, along with several other breweries statewide.

"Pour for The Cure" was started in memory of Hamden's Lea Doran, who died at age 6 from diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a brain cancer that mainly affects children and is found in the pons.
"Help us, and young people like Lea, get there sooner by heading out for a cold drink on a hot day," the fundraiser's organizers wrote on Facebook.
