Milford Coronavirus Infection Rate Slightly Increases
Milford is among more than 100 towns in the state's highest warning level for coronavirus infections.

MILFORD, CT — Milford's coronavirus infection rate ticked up slightly again.
Milford had 22 average daily cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 7 percent between April 3-16, according to the state Department of Public Health. There were 19.3 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period.
It’s important to note that a few cases can have a large impact on a municipal case rate, especially for small towns.

The state’s seven-day positive test rate was 8.09 percent as of Friday. There were 188 patients with COVID-19 in hospitals as of Friday, which is a net increase of 27 patients in seven days. Connecticut reported 17 COVID-19 related deaths in the past seven days, for a total of 10,826 since the pandemic began.
Milford recorded 72 new coronavirus cases between April 15-21, according to DPH’s preliminary data.

Milford schools
Statewide, cases among students and staff dropped recently after a slight uptick. There were 341 staff cases and 987 student cases in the most recent reporting week, compared with 406 staff and 1,285 student cases in the previous reporting week.
The following Milford schools reported fewer than six coronavirus infections between April 14-20. Unlisted schools reported no cases during the time period.
