MILFORD, CT — Connecticut COVID-19 infection rates have been trending downward over the past few weeks, which mirrors trends during the past two years as the virus somewhat recedes during summer months.
Still, highly-contagious omicron subvariants are present in Connecticut and more than 100 towns are in the state's highest warning level for COVID-19 infections. Connecticut also hit a grim milestone of 11,000 COVID-19 deaths on Thursday.
Milford had 12.5 average daily cases per 100,000 residents and a positive test rate of 8.50 percent between May 29 and June 1, according to the state Department of Public Health. There were 22.3 average daily cases per 100,000 residents in the previous two-week reporting period.
