Milford Family Needs Your Help

Jim Stewart is in need of a lung transplant and is at a Boston hospital and the family needs help with expenses.

Jim and Jenn Stewart, of Milford, are currently temporarily residing in Boston at Brigham and Women’s Hospital for Jim to receive treatments for his Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic disorder that affects the lungs, along with other vital organs in the body, according to their GoFundMe page, “Strength for Stewey.”

Previously, Jim was receiving treatment at Yale, but was transferred because of lack of improvement and a need for closer evaluation. Along with Jim’s transfer came more expenses, such as hotel stays and medical costs, as well as the strain that comes with the family only receiving one income.

The Stewarts’ Boston stay is expected to last at least a few more weeks, according to the page, as the family awaits the opportunity for Jim to receive a lung transplant and eventually come home.

“Jim and Jenn (married two years in September) are two of the most selfless people you will ever meet,” the page’s description reads. “They would give you the shirt off their back no questions asked. They both enjoy Disney, their crazy dogs Dory and Brady (whom they miss dearly) and the New England Patriots. They have a tremendous network of friends due to their long-term dedication and love to those around them (resulting in the largest bridal party of all time); but in this circumstance, their circle just isn’t enough.”

The page has generated $8,730 in one day as of 10:30 a.m. by 153 donors out of its goal of $10,000.
