Milford Harbor Gets Ready For Boating, Kayaking Season
Milford Harbor has added more small craft racks and is preparing for the boating season.
MILFORD, CT – As Kayaking, Paddleboarding and Dinghies have become more popular in Milford Harbor, Harbor master Jim Donegan said they had to install more storage racks on Milford Harbor to keep up with demand.
“We didn’t have enough space to meet demand,” he said. “So we ended up with a long waiting list of people that wanted a space but didn’t have space available.”
Racks can be rented for the season, from May 1 through October 31, by contacting Donegan at 203-874-1610 or through email at jdonegan@milfordct.gov.

“We had to add more racks because what we noticed over the last couple of years, the popularity of kayaks, paddleboards and dinghies has increased,” he said.
Adding to the storage area at Milford Harbor, Walnut Beach also has storage for small crafts.

“The storage at Walnut Beach is in an enclosed area,” he said. “We introduced that last year.”
Besides being prepared for small crafts, Donegan said they are also finalizing their preparations for the boating season.
“All of our mourning floats are back in place at Milford Harbor, and we are accepting marina reservations, and it looks like it’s going to be another busy season,” he said. “We are taking in a lot of transient marina reservations and booking many different groups to visit Milford and the Marina.”
