Milford Historical Society Adds Extra Tour of Herb Gardens

The tour will be held Saturday, July 30 at 2:30 p.m.

The Milford Historical Society at 34 High St. welcomes visitors every Saturday and Sunday from 1-4 p.m., and on July 30 at 2:30 p.m., there will be something extra - an added tour of the Herb Gardens that are cared for by the society’s Herbcrafter’s group.

The cost for docent-led tours of three 18th century houses and the garden is $5 for adults, free for children.

For general information about the society or to join, visit the Milford Historical Society website and Facebook page. Annual membership dues are $5 for students, individuals $20 and families $40. Membership applications are available by writing to P.O. Box 337, Milford.

Special events are scheduled at the society during the Milford Oyster Festival, Aug. 20. Visitors can have photos taken in stocks from noon to 3 p.m., and from noon to 1 p.m., there will be colonial games for children. A quill pen writing workshop will be held from 1-2 p.m. As usual, the three houses will be open 1-4 p.m.
