Milford Hospital Holds "Dinner with Doctor" Program on Skin Cancer

The "Dinner with the Doctor" Program on Skin Cancer will cover prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Milford, CT - As we approach the dog days of summer, Milford Hospital reminds residents and visitors to our beautiful shoreline that too much and unprotected exposure to the sun cause serious health concerns. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. It is estimated that one in five Americans will develop it in the course of a lifetime. Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun is the primary cause of skin cancer. The good news is that skin cancer is both preventable and highly treatable when detected early. However, left undiagnosed, it can become disfiguring and, even, deadly.
