Milford Hospital Honors Volunteers For National Volunteer Week

Milford Hospital honored nearly 190 volunteers at an awards ceremony for serving the hospital in numerous positions throughout the year.

From Milford Hospital: Hospital Honors Volunteers at Awards Dinner and Ceremony National Volunteer Week, held each year in April, gives organizations across the country the opportunity to recognize and celebrate the valuable service of volunteers. Last Thursday evening, in recognition of their generous gifts of time, energy and talent, Milford Hospital recognized and honored nearly 190 volunteers at their annual appreciation dinner and awards ceremony held at the hospital.

The hospital has a dedicated corps of nearly 300 men, women and teenagers that support patients, visitors and hospital staff. Over the last year, these volunteers collectively contributed nearly 29,000 hours of service to the hospital.

The theme for National Volunteer Week 2017 was “Volunteers Make the World Brighter.” In his remarks at the recognition event, Dr. Lloyd Friedman, Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Operating Officer, noted that he witnesses the effect volunteers have on the hospital each and every day. “I see your willingness to help others in any way you can. You don’t just do your job well – you help others do their job well.”
