Milford Hospitals Hosts Diabetes Educational Program

The program will aim to educate individuals who have been newly diagnosed with diabetes as well as those who need a refresher on May 24.

From Milford Hospital: Milford Hospital to Hold Educational Program on Diabetes, According to the American Diabetes Association, over 29 million Americans are living with diabetes. Of those, more than 25% are seniors. In addition, diabetes is the 7th leading cause of death in our country. On Wednesday, May 24th from 6:30pm -7:30pm, Milford Hospital will present the next session in their series of “Timely Topics” for your health. The program titled “Diabetes: What you should know – What you should do” will be presented by Maureen Devlin, Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator

Information and facts will be presented for those individuals newly diagnosed with diabetes as well as those who may be in need of a refresher. The program will cover nutrition, meal planning, medications, blood sugar numbers, diabetes complications and the latest resources available to those living with the condition.

The free session will be held in the Milford Hospital Auditorium, 300 Seaside Avenue in Milford. Time will be allowed for questions and answers. Registration is encouraged. Please call the Milford Hospital Community Education Department 203-876-4004 to reserve your spot.
