Milford Mom Starts Cookie Business With 'Out-Of-This-World Twist'

MILFORD, CT — A home-based cookie business in Milford will be delivering treats to local residents and appearing at events.

Chewie Cookie Co. was started by Shelby Williamson.

"After becoming a stay-at-home mom, I started to play around with different ingredients to create my own cookie recipes," Williamson said. "What began as fun kitchen experiments quickly turned into a full-blown passion project with an out-of-this-world twist."

Williamson makes "fresh, small-batch cookies from scratch using organic and whole ingredients—no shortcuts and no extra junk." She added that "everything is thoughtfully made with high-quality ingredients you can feel good about sharing with your family."

Chewie Cookie Co. flavors are playfully named after beloved Star Wars characters. Some include:

• Chewie Chocolate Chip – a classic, soft and chewy treat
• PB Skywalker – a smooth peanut butter cookie packed with peanut butter cups
• Java the Nut – a bold coffee cookie meets crunchy pistachios for the perfect pick-me-up
• Dark Vader – a delicious dark chocolate cookie with creamy white chips — for those who like to embrace the dark side

"We’re proud to be freshly baked in a galaxy not so far away," Williamson said.

The business does not currently have a storefront. Orders can be placed directly at chewiecookie.com, which offers both local delivery and pickup in Milford.

Williamson said she also "happily takes large custom orders for events, parties, and special occasions—just reach out to start planning your cookie lineup!"

Chewie Cookie Co. will also be at local events and festivals. Next up is the Milford Lobster Roll Fest on Sept. 20, where the bakery will be handing out exclusive discounts for attendees.
