Milford United Way Looking For New Executive Director

Anyone with fundraising and management experience who has empathy, dedication and a desire to support their community is invited to apply.

MILFORD, CT — After its leader of over four decades announced his retirement earlier this year, Milford United Way is hiring a new executive director.

The nonprofit is looking for "a strategic and experienced leader" who holds a bachelor's degree and has at least five years of fundraising and leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit.

Whoever is chosen will join an organization that's in "strong financial and strategic health" with a board of directors "deeply committed to its mission, vision, and values," United Way officials said.

The right candidate will have empathy, dedication and the desire to support their community, officials said. They'll help United Way advocate for the health, education, and financial stability of the entire Milford Community.

And they'll have big shoes to fill, as outgoing executive director Gary Johnson oversaw Milford United Way's first $1 million fundraising campaign and led the organization through Super Storm Sandy and the coronavirus pandemic, among other accomplishments.
