Milford's Aurora Cited As Star Student: Here’s Why

We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's one local resident who is having an impact in Milford.

(T-Mobile; Patch)

MILFORD, CT— Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.

This submission comes from Melody who nominated her daughter, Aurora, of Milford

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?

Aurora has overcome many medical hardships. She lives with multiple autoimmune illnesses and is in medical remission. She has made the deans list with a 3.89 her first semester at Penn state as a nursing student. She chose nursing to help others as she was helped. She fundraised since October 2022 for THON. She just spent 46 hours straight standing and dancing in a THON marathon raising awareness and monies for pediatric cancer. Aurora's goal was to be a part of change to help children get the treatment that they need to save lives, like her life was saved through her treatments.
