New Athletic Director Named For Jonathan Law High School
Thomas Drew, an experienced special education teacher and football head coach, is hired as the athletic director.
MILFORD, CT – Jonathan Law High School has a new athletic director, according to Milford Public Schools.
Thomas Drew, a long-time special education teacher with MPS, is the new athletic director at Law High School and is replacing V. Sarullio, who was hired as the new athletic director for Staples High School in Westport.
"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the Jonathan Law community as Athletic Director," said Drew. "Jonathan Law has a long-standing tradition of excellence in athletics, and I look forward to working with the student-athletes, coaches, and families."

Since 2015, Drew has been a member of the MPS staff, serving as a special education teacher at Joseph A. Foran High School. Before teaching in Milford, he was a special education teacher at HK Middle School in Killingworth and Bennie Dover Jackson Middle School in New London.
Drew's experience isn't only in special education; he is the current head coach for football at the Foran and head girl's lacrosse coach.

"Throughout the interview process, Tom shared his vision of growth that will allow our already stellar athletic program to get to the next level," Brayn Darcy, Jonathan Law High School principal, said. "He is someone who is invested in the well-being of all our students here at JLHS. Tom has my full support, and I'm confident he will do his best to support our students, staff and families. We are excited for him to start working with us."
MPS said Drew brings strong leadership as a coach in several other high school sports, including track and field, wrestling, basketball and unified sports. He holds a coaching certification from the State of Connecticut.
Throughout his career, school officials said Drew has developed a passion for working with students as a teacher and a coach.
"It is my goal to prioritize student success not only in athletic competition but also in the classroom and community," Drew said.
Drew received a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from the State University of New York in Cortland in 2007. He earned a Master of Science in special education in 2014 from Saint Joseph's College in West Hartford. He will complete his intermediate administrative certification from the University of New England in May 2023.
