Residents Voice Concerns Over Milford Affordable Housing Proposal

A vote has been scheduled for August on the matter. Residents spoke at a meeting about a variety of concerns.

The Milford Planning and Zoning Board heard residents’ opinions on the proposed 180-unit apartment complex at 440 Wheelers Farms Rd.

Milford Developers LLC of Chatham, New Jersey filed its application for the 26-acre plot under the state’s affordable housing law, 8-30g, which allows for the override of local zoning regulations, the Milford Mirror reports.

Residents were heard concerning potential effects the development could have on their properties, including increased flooding, more traffic, damage from blasting, effects of possible oils, contaminants and pesticides.
