‘Not My Choice’: Longtime Business To Close In Milford

A business owner with a shop that caters to outdoor enthusiasts issued a "heartfelt farewell" to loyal customers.

MILFORD, CT — Scoot & Paddle, an outdoor adventure shop specializing in kayaks and paddleboards, is closing its doors after 13 years in business in Walnut Beach.

"This was not my choice, but with the changing landscape of the area and rising costs, my time here is coming to a close," the owner wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.

However, the owner said this "isn’t the end — just a pause while I figure out what’s next." She said that her hope is "to continue sharing the joy of paddling and community in some way, shape, or form in the future."
