Obituary: Alex Orban, 82, of Milford
Alex, a passionate professional and devoted family man, was a national fencing champion and longtime employee of Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Alex Orban, 82, of Milford, CT, beloved husband of Betty Orban, passed away peacefully on December 2nd, 2021 after a long battle with Cancer.
Born on August 25th, 1939 in Budapest, Hungary, he was the son of the late Sandor Orban and Marie Szabo. As a teenager, Alex moved to the United States and joined the military.
After his service, Alex went on to be a 5-time National Fencing Champion and competed in the Summer Olympics of ’68, ’72 & ’76. He then began a 40-year career at Mercedes-Benz of Fairfield. Alex was very passionate about his profession, he continued working well into retirement age and was adored by all of his colleagues.
He was known for his warm, loving personality, constant smile, easy going demeanor, and positive energy. Alex was a devoted family man. He loved taking his family on vacation and being involved in his children's sports.
After work you could see him cooking Hungarian food with his wife while tennis or football played on the kitchen TV. He also enjoyed playing poker with his boys and was very fond of Spanish music.
Alex is survived by his wife Betty, his five children, Alex, Brendan, Bradley, Alexandra & Sean. As well as his seven grandchildren, Rebecca, Sarah, Julia, George-Andrew, Arianna, Arius & Emerson.
Alex is predeceased by his sister Marie.
