Obituary: Edward Francis Helgans Jr., 93, of Milford
Edward, a loving and devoted family man, worked for many years as a Business Executive for the former NY Telephone Co.
MILFORD, CT - (From Sisk Brothers Funeral Home) Edward Francis Helgans Jr., 93, of Milford, formerly of Sarasota, FL and Scarsdale, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 19,2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of the late Lillian Conley Helgans. Brother of the late Robert and Richard Helgans.
Father of Edward F.(Laura) Helgans III of Woodbridge, David (Leticia) Helgans of Darien, Craig (Alicia) Helgans of Fairfield and the late Scott (Nina) Helgans. Grandfather of Mary Marra, Sharon Monnes and Elliott, Graham, Caroline, Drew, and Brendan Helgans, great grandfather of Lucy and Tyler Monnes.
Also survived by several nieces and nephews
.Edward was born Nov. 9, 1927 in Queens, NY a son of the late Edward F. and Anna Moser Helgans Sr. and was a graduate of Jamaica High School.
He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 and after his honorable discharge in 1947 he attended and graduated from Union College.
He was employed for many years as a Business Executive for the former NY Telephone Co.
Funeral service and burial will be private. Memorial contributions are requested to be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Assoc., 135 Parkinson Ave., Staten Island, NY 10305.
