Obituary: ​Hedwig "Hedi" Seefeldt, 88, of Milford

She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Milford. She also attended monthly luncheons with the Ladies' German Club.

Hedwig "Hedi" Seefeldt, age 88, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Charles J. Seefeldt entered into peaceful rest on Saturday, May 4, 2024, surrounded by her family at home.

She was born on March 22, 1936, in Altenstadt, Germany, and was the daughter of the late Otto and Theresia (Stibi) Bergmiller.

Hedi worked as a head teller at People's Bank in Noroton Heights for many years. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Milford. She also attended monthly luncheons with the Ladies' German Club. Hedi loved to cook and taught her whole family how to make delicious German schnitzel and spaetzle.

She loved to read and crochet. She made hundreds of slippers for friends, family, and various shelters. She also crocheted hats for newborns at many hospitals.

Above all, family was most important to her. She treasured our weekly family dinners and any time she was able to spend with her family. Nightly family FaceTime phone calls were often the highlight of her day. Her voice, her laugh, her smile and her presence will be missed tremendously.

Hedi is survived by her three children, Theresa Reinholz and her husband, Thomas of Milford, Charles Seefeldt and his wife, Bethany of Derby and Christopher Seefeldt and his husband, Daniel Karol of Ocoee, FL, three grandchildren, Erica Reinholz and her fiancé, Shane, Ava Lilly and her husband Vincent, and Jayden Cooper, and two great-grandchildren, Arlo and Emery. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Franz Bergmiller and his wife, Renate and Tony Bergmiller and his wife, Renate, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Frieda Bergmiller and her brother, Otto Bergmiller and his wife Anni.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Friday, May 10th from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. at the GREGORY F. DOYLE FUNERAL HOME, 291 BRIDGEPORT AVENUE, MILFORD. Interment will be private.
