Obituary: Marguerite L. Acebo, 102, of Milford

Marguerite was a talented seamstress, loving caretaker to her children and active member of the community.

MILFORD, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) Marguerite L. Acebo, age 102, of Milford, died on January 1, 2022surrounded by her loving family.

Marguerite was born in Saint Albans, Vermont on May 13, 1919, to the late Henry and Olive Bouchard Lamarche.

She spent her early years in Vermont and graduated from Holy Angel French School. Music and reading were her passions.

She was a talented, loving caretaker to her children, and seamstress.

She also worked at St Ann School in Devon, where she was known fondly as “Gram”. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the Renew Prayer Group with St Ann's Church in Milford.

She attended with her daughter, Joyce Acebo~Raguskus, ST. Martin dePores, in New Haven, Father Joseph Michael Elko, presiding family priest and an environment and health advocate with Environmental Concerns Coalition & Clean Water Action, given recognition by CT General Assembly, 2009, supported The Arts and Milford Fine Arts Council, front row.

She loved celebrating her many birthday parties with friends and family in the magnificent month of May, with early Springs, Lily of the Vally.

Survivors include her children, Carol Eaton and Joyce Acebo~Raguskus, both of Milford, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Marguerite is predeceased by her Husband, Joseph S. Acebo, son, Rodney J. Acebo and her eight brothers and sisters.

A church service in her honor is planned for Spring. The family would like to thank Colleen and Susan for opening up their homes and their hearts to Marguerite.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Graveside Service on Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Union Cemetery, 23 Temple Street in Stratford.
