Obituary: Marjorie V.K. Mete, 94, formerly of Milford
Marge was a devoted mother and wife. She cherished her family, her faith and was known for her grace and kindness.
MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Marjorie VK Mete, 94, of Southbury CT formerly of Milford CT, beloved wife of the late Joseph Mete passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 26, 2022.
Born on July 17 in White Plains, she was the daughter of the late Helen (Shanahan) and Gordon Van Kuren.
Anyone who knew Marge would agree that she was a devoted mother and wife. She cherished her family and her faith. Known for her grace and kindness, Marge was always willing to lend a helping hand.
There was not anything she would not do for the family, not only her daughter and husband but her extended family as well.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia Mete and her favorite son-in-law Charles Cash of Woodbury CT, and her “family” Patti and Tim Wege and Steve Myers all of New Hampshire. She embraced all of her husband, Joseph’s family, as her own and leaves them behind with fond memories of her caring ways.
Marge also leaves behind many treasured friends especially Kathy and Jim Uebelacker and their family.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Florence and Elvira, as well as her Aunt Gertrude and Gertrude’s daughter Myrtle and son, Charles.
With them she developed her love for Lake George, sharing many special memories.
The family is being compassionately cared for by the staff at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church, located at 400 Merwin Avenue, Milford, CT. (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).
An interment will take place following mass at Saint Mary Cemetery located at Buckingham Avenue, Milford, CT.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to American Heart Association.
