Obituary: Rita C. O’Hara, 90, of Milford

Rita retired after devoting many years as an x-ray technician at Milford Hospital. She cherished her family, her dogs and her community.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Rita C. O’Hara, 90, of Milford, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2022. Rita was born on April 15, 1931 in Derby, CT to the late Joseph E. and Helen Bergin.

Rita retired as an X-Ray Technician from Milford Hospital after many devoted years. She loved all her dogs over the years and spending time with her family and friends from the Laurel Beach Community.

Rita would take vacation trips to Booth Bay, Maine and dedicated her time to her parish at St. Gabriel Church.

Rita leaves behind her nephews, Joseph R. Bergin and his wife Amy and Stephen F. Bergin; great nieces and nephews, Paul Evangelista, Krista Verdi and her husband Ryan, Georgia and Greta Bergin and William and Lily Bergin; great great niece, Aria Verdi; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Bergin. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph F. Bergin and her niece Cecelia M. Evangelista.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. at St. Gabriel Church (St. Raphael Parish), 26 Broadway, Milford, CT.

Burial will take place at Mount St. Peter Cemetery, 219 New Haven Ave., Derby, CT.
