Obituary: Sheila Q. (Quinn) Franke, 83, of Milford

Sheila, always proud of her Irish heritage and love for her family, was known as a kind, generous and selfless person.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) Sheila Q. (Quinn) Franke, 83, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Albert W. Franke, Jr., passed away peacefully on June 26, 2021.

Born on June 10, 1938 in Waterbury, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Rabtoy) Quinn.

Sheila grew up in West Haven and in her retirement years, moved to North New Portland, Maine, and finally to Milford, Connecticut.

In her youth, Sheila was an entertainer, singing with her siblings every Saturday morning on WELI’s Youth On Parade as well as performing at many entertainment venues around the state. She was a member of the West Haven High School Class of 1956 and started her working career as a secretary.

In 1965, Sheila and her husband founded Albert W. Franke Associates, Inc., a New Haven real estate appraisal firm. Later in her career, Sheila worked for two fragrance companies as an executive assistant.

Sheila was proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed her several trips to Ireland. A devout Roman Catholic, she was a kind, generous and selfless person who adored her eight grandchildren and beloved cat, Charlie.

Sheila is survived by her brother, Joseph Quinn (Ann Marie) and her children, Albert (Bud) Franke III (Tina), Joseph Franke (Laurel), and Patricia (Trish) Fountain (Matthew). She also leaves behind grandchildren Samantha Pendred, Joseph Franke, Ryan Pendred, Emily Franke, Haley Franke, Katherine Franke, Sonny Franke and Chloe Franke. Not to be forgotten are her adopted grandchildren, Nathanael Fountain (Kim) and Christopher Fountain, as well as great-grandchildren Miley and Ethan.

She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sheila was predeceased by brothers John (Jack) Quinn and Brian Quinn and sister Miriam (Mimi) Parcells.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Agnes Church (Precious Blood Parish), 400 Merwin Ave., Milford, CT 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH).

Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery 700 Middletown Ave., North Haven, CT 06473.
