Obituary: William “Bill” Olah, 76, of Milford

Bill worked over 50 years for Windsor Properties, was an incredibly talented craftsman, handyman, proud Navy veteran and loving family man.

MILFORD, CT - (From Cody-White Funeral Home) William “Bill” Olah, 76, of Milford, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2022. Bill was born on July 11, 1945 in Bridgeport, CT to the late George and Dorothea Olah.

Bill was a proud veteran who served in the United States Navy. Bill worked for Windsor Properties as District Manager, managing the Newport and Robert Treat Apartments for over 50 years.

He was an incredibly talented craftsman and handyman. From making jewelry and leather products from knife sheaths to gun holsters, one-of-a-kind bracelets, necklaces, anything he could think of.

Bill really enjoyed working on projects throughout his home. He took great pride in his yard and gardens and really enjoyed outings on his motorcycle.

He also loved loud quality home theater systems. He was a people person and made friends wherever he went. Bill loved life, making others laugh and taking joy in the small moments.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at Connecticut Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.

Bill leaves behind his son, David Carlson Olah and his partner, Cristina Ramos; sister, Nancy Pereto; niece and nephew, Christopher and Alison Pereto; his companion for over 20 years, Sandy Pelle; and his Granddaughter (kitty cat) Sebago. Bill was predeceased by his son, William George Olah II and his late wife, Ellen Carlson (Olah).

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.

A Funeral Service with Military Honors will close the evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
