Obituary: William F. Guelakis, 72, of Milford
William worked numerous positions at Fairfield University, was the clerk for the Borough of Woodmont and was active in the community.
MILFORD, CT - (From Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home) William F. Guelakis, age 72, beloved husband of Susan Simone Guelakis, died on January 5, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer.
William was born in Hamden, CT on August 5, 1949 to the late Fred and Ann Brozak Guelakis. He graduated from the University of New Haven Cum Laude with a Master of Science Degree.
He was a past director of the graduate program in Software Engineering at Fairfield University and more recently taught the master’s level.
He was currently the clerk for the Borough of Woodmont where he resided and a Board Member of the Pine Grove Association in Falls Village, CT where he has a home.
In addition to his wife Susan, he is survived by a brother, Dr. Charles Guelakis and his wife Margaret of Cheshire, his nephews, Damian and his wife Marian and Patrick and nieces, Megan and herhusband Asad Spahic and Caitlin and her husband Stephen Anderson and great-nieces and nephew, Sophia, Anabella, Mackenzie and Liam.
His family is extremely grateful and wish to express sincere thanks and appreciation for the care he was given by his nurses, palliative care team and all the staff at Yale Smilow Cancer Center and Yale Hospital.
