Veterinary Technician
Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?
Some might underestimate the relevance of a veterinary technician during this time. However, like any healthcare worker, they, too, are risking their lives to keep members of your family in good health - family members of the furry persuasion, but family members nevertheless. At a time when everyone is quarantining, the well-being of your pet has never been more important, since, for some, they're the only other living thing in the house, the only one to keep you company when your spirits are at their lowest.
Right now, people are even fostering animals to help them get through this difficult period and combat the loneliness. While many people are fortunate enough to work from the safety and comfort of home, my mother still gets up and goes to work. She's running pets in and out of peoples' cars while still completing treatments, filling medications, and answering phone calls. And she's doing everything with a positive attitude. All essential workers deserve appreciation and recognition, including those making sure that your closest and most loyal of friends are happy and healthy.
What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:
My mother once told me she would never turn away an animal that came to her door. For this reason, we've owned and rehabilitated many animals over the years. Further testament of her love for all creatures great and small.
Thank you Lynn for all that you do!
