Shop Fails Tobacco, E-Cigarette Compliance Check, Milford Police Say

MILFORD, CT — A Milford shop failed a recent test for selling e-cigarette and tobacco products those under 21, police said.

Police and state officials conducted the unannounced inspections of establishments that sell tobacco and e-cigarettes Tuesday.

Smokers Land at 784 Boston Post Road failed the check, police said. The clerk at the business was issued a first-time infraction penalty of $300. The business will be referred to the state for possible administrative action.

Smokers Land sells cigars, vape, kratom, CBD, and smoke shop accessories, according to its Instagram page.

Retailers are required by state law to inspect the photo ID of anyone appearing to be under 30 buying tobacco or e-cigarettes.
