SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook for southern Connecticut for potentially stormy weather early Monday and running through Tuesday morning.

"Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible early Monday morning through early Tuesday," the National Weather Service said in a statement Sunday. "If the heaviest rainfall moves over the same area, localized to scattered flash flooding is possible, mainly for Monday night. The WPC has placed the area in a slight risk of excessive rainfall. Some storms may also be strong to severe, with the SPC placing far western locations in a slight risk."

Once the unsettled weather ends Tuesday, the weather looks better from Wednesday through Sunday, with sunshine and seasonal temperatures expected. There is a chance for rain showers Friday afternoon, according to the weather service.
