The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for coastal sections of Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex and New London counties.

The weather service said, "Areas of light precipitation may develop tonight and may be in the form of flurries or freezing drizzle. If freezing drizzle develops, a glaze of ice is possible on any untreated surface. This may result in hazardous travel conditions quickly developing."

Saturday: A chance of snow and freezing rain before 9am, then a chance of drizzle between 9am and 1pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 41. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
