Special Weather Statement Issued For Southern Connecticut
The National Weather Service has just issued a special weather statement for coastal sections of southern Connecticut.

SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT — A special weather statement has been issued for coastal sections of southern Connecticut for Thursday morning by the National Weather Service.
"Areas of fog develop this morning with a warm front just off to the immediate south and southwest. Visibilities are dropping and are already getting down locally to a quarter mile along the immediate coast. The fog may become more widespread and dense as the morning progresses and a dense fog advisory may be needed. If driving use your low beam headlights and exercise caution as visibilities may drop suddenly," the weather service said.
And a coastal flood advisory is in effect from midnight through 5 a.m. Friday for coastal sections of Fairfield and New Haven counties. And a coastal flood advisory is in effect from 11 p.m. until 4 a.m. Friday for coastal sections of Middlesex and New London counties.

"Minor flooding in the more vulnerable locations near the waterfront and shoreline. Some roads and low lying properties including parking lots, parks, lawns, and homes and businesses with basements near the waterfront will experience minor flooding."

Tonight: Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 11pm. Low around 53. South wind 11 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Friday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Breezy, with a south wind 17 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph.
