Stolen Car Suspect Flees By Swimming To Boat In Milford Harbor, Police Say
Police captured three suspects accused in a stolen vehicle case Thursday. One of them attempted to flee by swimming to a boat.

MILFORD, CT — Three suspects in a stolen car case were arrested Thursday in Milford, according to police.
The incident occurred at 6:33 p.m. when police spotted the stolen Ford Escape on New Haven Avenue that was stolen out of Seymour.
Police followed the car into a parking lot at 85 New Haven Ave. where it stopped. One of the passengers fled toward Wilcox Park.

Police detained the driver and another passenger, who were both juveniles.
Police established a perimeter at the park and deployed a drone. Using the drone, police said they spotted the third suspect, Robert Cortina, 18, of Naugatuck, swimming to a boat in Milford Harbor.

Police "borrowed a rowboat nearby and rowed out to the suspect where he was taken into custody without further incident."
All three suspects were charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.
Cortina was also charged with interfering with police. He was released after posting $5,000 bond.
