Subway Knew About 'Jared' Child Sex In 2008: Report

Jared Fogle admitted to sex with children and possession of child porn last week.

A former Subway franchisee told company executives in 2008 that its then-spokesman Jared Fogle was having sex with children, according to Business Insider, but her information went ignored.

Earlier in the week, Subway told Business Insider that it is now investigating whether any executives were aware of Fogle’s misconduct.

Cindy Mills, who was a Subway franchisee from 2006 to 2012 in Pensacola, Florida, told Business Insider that Fogle made “disturbing comments” to her seven years ago after they met at a company function.

He told her that he had sex with minors and met up with child prostitutes between nine and 16 years old in Thailand and the United States, according to Mills.

Mills told Subway what happened, but the company ignored her complaints, the publication reported.

“I thought, ‘This man has a lot of money. Subway has a lot money. They have made each other a lot of money,’” Mills told Business Insider. “I was worried. I was scared to death.”

Fogle last Wednesday admitted to having sex with minors and possessing child porn. Subway terminated its relationship with him the night before.

A Subway spokesman did not immediately return a message left by Patch seeking comment. A message left with Fogle’s attorney, Jeremy Margolis, was also not immediately returned.

Mills then hired an attorney to explore legal action against Subway over breach of the franchiser-franchisee contact.

But her attorney, Robert Beasley, told Business Insider that she wouldn’t have a case, since Fogle was technically an employee of Subway Franchisee Advertising Fund Trust.

SFAFT is in charge of Subway’s marketing and shares the same address as the sandwich chain but is legally a separate company.
