Suspected Catalytic Converter Thieves Fled Officers: Milford Police

MILFORD, CT — Police continue to investigate after a vehicle suspected to be used in a catalytic converter theft fled officers early Tuesday.

The converter was stolen from Robert Treat Parkway. One suspect was seen with a firearm, police said.

Officers later located the suspected getaway vehicle, but it fled. Officers pursued and attempted to use stop sticks, but the vehicle fled onto the highway.

• Man arrested for domestic violence incident and assault on a police officer on Lenox Avenue.
• Kia Sportage stolen during overnight hours on Plains Road.
• Stolen Hyundai Sonata recovered on North Street. It was taken from Naugatuck Avenue.
• Catalytic converter stolen from Honda Accord in Five Below parking lot.
• Laptop stolen from vehicle in Petco parking lot.
• Catalytic converter stolen from Honda CRV in Hobby Lobby parking lot.

Jan. 15

• Man charged with shoplifting from Dick's Sporting Goods.
• Late report of shoplifting incident at 1718 Boston Post Road. Security guard threatened with pepper spray.
• Woman sustained serious injuries after being assaulted at the mall by another female known to her. Investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 16

• Domestic violence incident with a firearm displayed on Avon Street. Woman was arrested.
• Shoplifting reported at Target. Suspect fled on foot
