'Unprovoked' Fight At Milford Mall Leads To Charges: PD
Police said the accused "began threatening to kill the victim and continued to choke them on the ground."
MILFORD, CT — Police said on Sept. 16 officers responded to the Milford mall for a fight.
Mall security had 2 people separated upon arrival, police said.
"The victim stated that they were walking in the mall with their family when they observed (Roychelle) Mincey (52-years-old) staring at their young children, and he began following them," police said in a news release. "When the victim turned to Mincey to confront them, Mincey grabbed the victim by the throat, took them to the ground and put them in a chokehold. Mincey began threatening to kill the victim and continued to choke them on the ground. A violent struggle ensued, and the victim attempted to fight Mincey off. Mall security arrived and was able to separate the two."

During the investigation, it was determined that the victim did not know Mincey, and the fight was "unprovoked," police said.
Mincey is charged with second-degree breach of peace, second-degree threatening, third-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree failure to appear. He was given a $13.500 bond, police said.
