Dear Parents/Guardians,

Yesterday we were notified of a voluntary recall that has been issued by ES Foods for a product they had distributed and that had been served in our school cafeterias within the past two weeks.

The product, called BREAKFAST BREAKS, is a combination package of three items including cereal, juice, and animal crackers. The animal crackers were the item of concern as the product possibly contained a very small trace of bronze shavings in their packaging. The manufacturer traced the tainted product to a single day’s production of the animal crackers and has notified the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

We have no indication that any of the products we served in our cafeterias were affected, however, out of an abundance of caution we have retrieved and removed the products from our affected school cafeterias (Orange Avenue Elementary, Joseph A. Foran High School, Jonathan Law High School and The Academy). If your student still has a packet of the animal crackers, please discard it and notify me at the Milford Food Service Department at (203) 783-3490 or via email at efaustich@milforded.org.

Sincerely,
Eileen S. Faustich
Director of Food Services
