ATV Operator Hospitalized Following Waterbury Crash: PD

The vehicle collided with a fire hydrant, and the operator was ejected, according to police.

WATERBURY, CT — A man riding an ATV sustained “life-threatening” injuries in an accident late Wednesday night, according to police.

Officer Nyjah Porcher said the accident happened around 11:18 p.m., in the area of 634 Oronoke Rd.

A preliminary investigation showed the ATV operator lost control, went off the roadway, and struck a fire hydrant, police said.

The adult male operator was ejected into a yard, and emergency personnel rushed him to a local hospital for treatment.

Police did not release the victim’s name Thursday.
