Jersey Mike's Subs Opens New Location In Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, CT — Jersey Mike's Subs kicked off the opening of its newest location in Naugatuck this week with a grand opening and fundraising event.

Franchise owners Mitchell and Kayla Thomson officially opened the new restaurant Wednesday at 112 Bridge Street.

"We have a great location here, with new construction, that is convenient for our customers to get our subs," Mitchell Thomson said in an email to Patch, "close to the high school, a new Urgent Care and Chipotle."

According to Thomson, the popular sandwich franchise's emphasis on customer service, as well as its speed of service and freshness of product, helps Jersey Mike's stand out from other food options in Naugatuck.

"Our fresh sliced and fresh grilled subs stand alone here," Thomson said.

To celebrate the opening of the new restaurant, the owners will hold a fundraiser through Dec. 21 to support Naugatuck Athletics.

Customers who receive a special fundraising coupon distributed through a grassroots effort prior to the opening can make a minimum $3 contribution to Naugatuck Athletics in exchange for a regular sub, according to additional press materials provided by Jersey Mike's.

Customers must have a coupon to be eligible.

Thomson noted the pair handed out 7,500 free sub cards for a $3 donation to Naugatuck Athletics.

He also urged any Naugatuck residents unfamiliar with Jersey Mike's to come by the new restaurant and give it a try.

"We always recommend our customers enjoy their sub served our signature 'Mike's Way' with onions, lettuce and tomatoes topped off with 'the juice,' red wine vinegar and an olive oil blend."

The Naugatuck location's hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

The new restaurant adds to the 48 Jersey Mike's locations already operating in Connecticut.

It's been a busy year or so for the chain in Connecticut, with locations having opened recently in Vernon, Berlin, West Hartford, Avon and Clinton among other towns.
