'Major Fire' Underway In Naugatuck Monday Night

Motorists are urged to avoid the area, fire officials said.

NAUGATUCK, CT — The Naugatuck Fire Department said it is battling a "major fire" in the former Lewis Engineering building on Monday night.

The fire department urged motorists to avoid Water Street between Cedar and Church streets.

"Fire operations expected to last throughout the night. The day care next door will be closed tomorrow," fire officials posted.
