Man Accused Of Threatening Uber Eats Driver With Gun: Naugatuck Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — A Naugatuck man accused of threatening an Uber Eats driver with a gun was arrested Saturday night, according to police.

In a news release, police said they were called to a Rubber Avenue property around 9:30 p.m. after an Uber Eats driver reported being threatened by a person with a gun during a delivery.

The man, later identified as Carlos Diaz, 41, of Naugatuck, was found on the property and arrested, according to police.

Officers later searched Diaz's apartment and seized multiple firearms and ammunition, according to police.

No injuries were reported, police said.

Diaz was charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and carrying a dangerous weapon.

He was held on a $150,000 bond, which was later posted at $50,000, and is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to police.

"The Naugatuck Police Department would like to thank responding officers for their professionalism in resolving a potentially dangerous situation and ensuring the safety of the public," police said in a news release.
