Man Charged In Assault On Naugatuck Green: Police

Police said a man was arrested in connection to a fight that broke out between two men on the Naugatuck Green.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A local man was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection to a fight that broke out between him and another man on the Naugatuck Green, according to police.

In a news release, police said officers were called to a Church Street bar around 1 a.m. after a man walked into the business bleeding and claimed he was assaulted.

Officers later learned a fight had broken out between the man and Ronnie Robert, 28, of Naugatuck, as the man was riding his bicycle on the Naugatuck Green, according to police.

Police said the man and Robert knew each other.

Emergency medical service crews evaluated the man and Robert, however they both declined further medical treatment, police said.

Robert was arrested and charged with third-degree assault. He was later released on a $1,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to police.
